A nonsense journey rhyme that turns down nasty beef and nasty barley in favour of the very best flour, for a white cake for Charley. The refusal-then-reward pattern gives it a good chant of a rhythm.

From Mother Goose / Nursery Rhymes (traditional). See the whole collection.

Over the water, and over the sea,
And over the water to Charley,
I'll have none of your nasty beef,
Nor I'll have none of your barley;
But I'll have some of your very best flour
To make a white cake for my Charley.
