Sarah Josepha Hale Children’s Books
Sarah Josepha Hale was an American writer and magazine editor who wrote 'Mary Had a Little Lamb,' published in 1830. For decades she edited Godey's Lady's Book, one of the most widely read magazines in the United States. She also campaigned for years to make Thanksgiving a national holiday, which it became in 1863.
