Hilaire Belloc Children’s Books

Hilaire Belloc was a writer born in France in 1870 who grew up in England and became one of the most prolific British authors of his day. For children he is known for Cautionary Tales for Children and The Bad Child's Book of Beasts, comic verse in which naughty children come to exaggerated and funny ends. The rhymes are quick and sharp, and they read aloud with real bounce.
