Eugene Field Children’s Books

Eugene Field was an American poet and newspaper columnist in Chicago, sometimes called the poet of childhood. He wrote Wynken, Blynken, and Nod, a lullaby about three sailing off in a wooden shoe, and The Duel, the tale of the gingham dog and the calico cat. Both were made to be read to children at bedtime.
