Edward Lear Children’s Books
Edward Lear was an English artist and writer, born in London in 1812. He worked first as a painter of birds and landscapes, then became famous for his nonsense verse, including The Owl and the Pussy-Cat and The Jumblies. He did a great deal to popularise the limerick. His made-up words and daft creatures are made to be said out loud.
