Beatrix Potter Children’s Books

Beatrix Potter was an English writer and natural scientist who published The Tale of Peter Rabbit herself in 1901 after publishers turned it down. She wrote and painted her little books for real children she knew, which is why they read aloud so well. She spent her later years farming in the Lake District, and left her land to the National Trust.
